2024 Worshipful Company of Marketors Thesis Awards

We are delighted to launch the 2024 Worshipful Company of Marketors Thesis Awards.

This national competition is open to any doctoral marketing student, based at a UK University, who submitted their PhD between 1st April 2023 and 1st April 2024. Any form of doctoral level qualification is permitted including, but not limited to, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctorate of Coaching and Mentoring (DCAM), Doctor of Education (Ed.D) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).

Arrangements for 2024 Awards

As in previous years, for 2024, we are offering participating universities a £500 prize for the best completed work (submitted thesis) by a Doctoral student whose subject contains a high level of marketing content, which is consistent with our key criteria, which are that it should:

  1. Support academic and applied research whose outcome is seen to benefit the practice and understanding of marketing.
  2. Raise public or corporate estimation of marketing.
  3. Demonstrate the student’s grasp and understanding of the principles and disciplines of marketing.

For 2024, in addition to the £500 for each successful student, the prize will also include £500 to the nominating institution as a donation to support the supervisor’s research. Up to three combined prizes can be awarded. 

British residents have been under-represented in previous years. We would particularly encourage them to apply and thus we would welcome two nominations from a particular University if at least one of them is for a British resident. It is a condition of the award that the student must have a UK bank account into which the prize can be paid, if they are successful.
