The Treasures of the Worshipful Company of Marketors

The Marketors was founded as a Guild in 1975 and we were granted our Letters Patent as a Livery company on 13th December 1977. Since its beginnings, the Company has collected treasures, such as badges of office, loving cups, silverware and ceremonial paraphernalia. These items are used at ceremonial events throughout the year. They have mostly been donated by current or past members and are a symbol of the pride felt towards the Company and the marketing profession.

The treasures tell the story of the development of the Company and give a fascinating insight into the men and women who have helped shape it.

The Master's Badge

Past Master Lesley Wilson tells us all about the history and symbolism behind a special piece of Marketors' treasure - The Master's Badge

The Marketors' Anthem

Past Master Richard Christou's Consort, Tasoulla Christou, composed an Anthem (Psalm 150: Praise ye the Lord), for choir, organ and solo trumpet, as a gift to the Worshipful Company of Marketors for performance at the Company’s Rededication Service on 15th April 2018. The performance was a World Premiere, and although Tasoulla retains the copyright, the Anthem is available for both the Company and St Bride’s to perform in future whenever they wish.

The Treasures of the Worshipful Company of Marketors

In November 2020 a twenty page guide was produced by the Marketors’ Heritage Committee covering all of the various treasures of the Company, such as the badges of office, loving cups, silverware and ceremonial paraphernalia. It has full colour photos of all items as well as the detailed history behind each one.
