The Church of St Bride’s is on Fleet Street in London
Since the establishment of the Worshipful Company of Marketors in 1975 there has been a strong link with the Church of St Bride’s, Fleet Street. St Bride’s has been the parish church for all in the media world for many years, and extends a warm welcome to all those who work in marketing, advertising and PR to join in worship and to visit the Church when in London.
The Rector of St Bride’s is traditionally the Honorary Chaplain of the Worshipful Company of Marketors. The current Chaplain Reverend Canon Dr Alison Joyce attends Livery lunches, dinners and is available to help all members and to discuss particular problems in confidence. For pastoral care, whatever your faith or none, please contact Alison at the Church.
St Bride’s welcomes the Company for the Blessing of the new Master in January, for the Spring Service of Thanksgiving and Rededication and for the Communications Industry Carol Service in December.
Marketors are always welcome at Sunday services (Choral Eucharist at 11am, Choral Evensong at 5.30pm) when the professional choir leads the worship. Adding to the City of London cultural scene, St Bride’s hosts free lunchtime recitals each week throughout the year on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1:15pm (except for Holy Week and December). Guided Tours of the Church and Crypt, very popular following a recent renovation, are held weekly on Tuesdays at 2.15pm. Tours last one and a half hours and cost just £6 per person.
We want you to feel wherever you live or work that this is your Church. A focal point for all concerned with the world of communication who wish to give thanks to God or seek His help.
Marketors Anthem
Past Master Richard Chrisou’s Consort, Tasoulla Christou, composed an Anthem (Psalm 150: Praise ye the Lord), for choir, organ and solo trumpet, as a gift to the Worshipful Company of Marketors for performance at the Company’s Rededication Service on 15th April 2018. The performance was a World Premiere, and, although Tasoulla retains the copyright, the Anthem is available for both the Company and St Bride’s to perform in future whenever they wish.
