St Bride’s Innovation Overcomes Church Service Lockdown

The Marketors’ Chaplain and her team at St Bride’s have introduced a novel way of bringing church services to the congregation.

Faced with Government closure of Sunday Services, Chaplain Reverend Canon Dr Alison Joyce has used archive recordings of St Bride’s professional choir to provide current online services.

St Bride’s is wired for sound and for some years has recorded all services featuring the choir. These archives can be spliced with new material from Alison to form whole, current services for online broadcast.

The first broadcasts on Mothering Sunday, 22 March included Choral Eucharist and Choral Evensong. New services will be released each Sunday whilst the lockdown continues.

So if you’re missing services at your local church or merely need spiritual inspiration in these difficult times, why not listen to Alison and the choir each Sunday? Marketors can access the new services from 11.00 am and 5.30 pm each Sunday and existing ones are available now at
