Apprentices demonstrate award-winning practical solutions to food crisis
City of London, December, 2016 – “The Marketors”, has announced the winners of its Enterprise Challenge in which the apprentices at Westminster Kingsway College were tasked with demonstrating that “Marketing for Good is Good Marketing”.
Apprentices from companies, such as Nielsen’s, Westminster Wealth Management, Urban Planters, Rain Cloud Victoria and Axiom tdm, competed for a prestigious award by showing the value and values of marketing in British society.
The competition saw teams pitching marketing ideas which reduce food waste and obesity, while helping those in need.
The winning team developed ideas of how major supermarkets could reduce food wastage via app technology and marketing techniques, while improving family diets and assisting food banks.
The apprentice winners were Jake Bradley, Freddie Greenan, Dean Parsons and Samuel Newman.
David Pearson, Master of The Marketors, in presenting the award said: “I was very impressed with the quality of analysis and the creativity of the proposals by all the students taking part in this important challenge. They showed they can devise and produce projects which have real practical, commercial and social value. After this outstanding start I believe this marks the beginning of an annual event that will enhance the student experience.”
