The annual City Lecture on Tuesday 17th May will be held in the new Warwick Business School lecture room on the 17th floor of the Shard with magnificent views across the river to the City. The speaker will be one of Britain’s leading retailers, Sir Ian Cheshire, the new Chairman of Debenhams.
As a pioneer of sustainable businesses and winner of the Guardian Sustainable Business Award for Leader of the Year in 2012, Sir Ian Cheshire will further complement this year’s marketing theme ‘Marketing for good is good marketing’, specifically by talking about the purpose of a business.
Marketors are very welcome to bring clients and guests who will no doubt leave inspired by this charismatic speaker, as well as the remarkable venue and the opportunity to network with other senior business men and women.
The City Lecture has a proud history stretching back to the mid-1990s and counts the likes of the Rt Hon Lord Young, the Rt Hon Lord Heseltine, Baroness Hogg, Brian Baldock, Sir Michael Perry, Sir Mark Weinberg, Sir Brian Pitman and Sir Martin Sorrell amongst its speakers. The Lecture is the Company’s most important event with an external focus of expressing one of the Marketors’ aims “promoting the benefits of the marketing profession to those in the City, the Livery and beyond.”
