One of the more common requests from the “Good Cause” organisations being helped by the Outreach Programme is advice on more effective fund raising activities by “Good Causes”. This is a specialist area of expertise that not all the Outreach Volunteers have had a lot of experience in. After a short discussion within the Outreach committee it was decided to run a fund raising for charities training course for any Outreach Volunteers who wanted to attend.
In June 2019, Clive Mishon organised an evening training course on fund raising for Outreach Volunteers and a few invited guests. The presenter was a very experienced fund raiser from within the Company, Peter Rosenvinge, who gave an excellent presentation entitled ‘How to Succeed with Your Charity Fundraising’. After two and a half hours the questions and answers were still flowing with all those present agreeing at the end of the session that such professional training is very useful to help do better Outreach projects for “Good Causes”.
Good training needs a good venue and so the attendees were grateful to Chris Griffin for hosting us at The Museum of Brands which is a great venue for such events.
Any members of the Company who missed out on this training opportunity because they are not in the Outreach Team can email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
