The Marketors Outreach programme has just completed an Outreach project for a small Charity, Barts City Life Saver (BCLS) that has one very important objective.
Barts City Life Saver is a unique registered Charity that teaches life saving skills to people living or working in central London. They provide exceptionally high quality training in Basic Life Support (BLS) and safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), all delivered by their passionate team of dedicated volunteers. All the BCLS courses comply with the current guidelines issued by the Resuscitation Council (UK) in 2015.
As BCLS explain, “We want to help people to move from being passive bystanders to active lifesavers when they are faced with an emergency. We understand the need not just for technical competence amongst our participants, but also the confidence to use their skills in an emergency and the need for empathy at a time of huge stress for all concerned.”

The Outreach project objectives were defined as: to advise on where they may obtain funding and suggest ways that they may be able to reach more recipients of their life saving training.
The Outreach project was managed by Liveryman Richard Bernholt who provided the necessary marketing advice and delivered it in the form of a short report with recommendations for the Charity’s Trustees to consider for action. When asked about the effectiveness of the outcomes, the charity commented “Very thorough, thank you. It has enabled the Trustees to generate a plan of action”.
As part of the Outreach project review, the Trustees gave the Marketors’ Outreach programme 5 out of 5 for meeting their expectations and 5 out of 5 for providing a useful report.
The Worshipful Company of Marketors’ Outreach Programme matches “good cause” organisations needing “pro bono” marketing support with one or more appropriate members of the Marketors, from Freemen to Past Masters. Outreach’s professional management approach helps document, define and time limit the marketing support, delivers our members’ marketing expertise and helps the “good cause” organisation to make their own improvements.
