Proceeds from the day were in aid of the Rainbow Trust, a children’s charity based in nearby Leatherhead, supported by the England Rugby Union International, Austin Healey who arrived at lunchtime and played golf during the afternoon. Over dinner, he also had the audience in stitches regaling us with anecdotes of his time playing for England and more recently as a media commentator. A very jolly evening was enjoyed by all and the proceeds from the golf, auction and raffle raised £7000 for the Rainbow Trust. The Masters Cup was presented to the winners, the Horners Company, by our Master, John Fisher.
Invitations were sent out to ensure that there was a strong representation from other livery companies including the Drapers Company (one of the Great Twelve), a small selection of handpicked corporate companies and many Marketors who also entered teams and played on the day.
To add sparkle to the event, two Bentley Cars were provided for inspection and demonstration, facilitated by Liveryman Dennis Taylor.

There was a mighty shout on the course mid-afternoon when Miles St. C. Baird playing for one of the two teams entered by the Horners Company managed a hole in one on the 13th to the delight of all the players.
Later at Dinner we held an auction, enabled by the kind generosity of Marketors and friends who had donated gifts and also premier clubs who contributed free rounds of golf.

My thanks to Liveryman Peter Short who worked tirelessly to ensure that all operational aspects of the day were delivered efficiently and within budget and the team of non playing Marketors who helped before the event and gave their time on the day ensuring that all went well.
