It is one of the privileges of a Livery Company – and one not afforded to all - to be able to enjoy its own Banquet in the splendour of the Mansion House and to hear in person from the Lord Mayor. We have been fortunate to secure a date in the calendar close to when the Lord Mayor and Sheriffs have a break from their duties for the summer. There will be, therefore, a real ‘end of term’ atmosphere which will give rise to a particularly joyous occasion.
We are honoured that, with the kind permission of the Lord Mayor, we can dine in the Egyptian Hall, where he entertains Heads of State and Ambassadors and where the new Chancellor of the Exchequer will soon make his first major speech to the City.
In a year when the future of the financial services sector has been high on political agendas worldwide, our main speaker will be The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor Nick Anstee – champion of the City and our principal guest.
The evening will begin with a reception at 6.45pm, with St Dunstan’s cadets providing the Carpet Guard.
The four-course banquet will commence at 7.30pm. The Will Todd Jazz Ensemble, friends of the Master, will entertain us during the reception and banquet.
This is a glittering occasion which guests will never forget. It is a great opportunity to entertain partners, friends and business contacts. This year’s Spring Lunch was oversubscribed so I encourage you to book now. I very much look forward to seeing you there.
