We receive requests for assistance all of the time. Sadly, we do not have an 'alert’ service to notify Members as and when opportunities arise, so we urge you to revisit this page on a regular basis.
St Mary at Hill Church
St Mary at Hill is a charming church established, close to the Tower of London, in the 12th Century. As well as a weekly service the church also hosts regular music recitals in a beautiful domed space with an impressive church organ and loft.
Marketing support is required to develop plans to increase visitor footfall and monetisation, as well as the creation of new events and activities to increase revenue.
The initial project would be to facilitate and run a 2-3 hour marketing planning workshop with the leadership and parish team, to understand the current situation and start to formulate plans in order to achieve its marketing and development objectives.

London Rebuilding Society
The London Rebuilding Society provides financial services and products to individuals, communities and enterprises across London who cannot access traditional sources of finance.
The organisation is itself a social enterprise and mutual society. Their aims are to:
- Foster social enterprise in London;
- Empower disadvantaged communities in London by providing them with the finance and skills they need to invest in themselves.
LRS need help with a number of projects:
- They plan to hold a share issue later this year in order to raise capital for on-lending. The investment should be seen as primarily social but investors qualify for tax reliefs equivalent to a modest return. LRS would appreciate help in constructing a PR and Marketing Communications strategy.
- Branding – LRS has a strong corporate brand but it is time for an evaluation and evolution in line with the organisations mid term strategic aims.
- They have a newly appointed graduate who is leading their marketing but he is new to the role and the sector and would like to find an experienced marketer who would be prepared to mentor him on an informal basis.

Hammersmith Academy - Corporate Identity Development
Hammersmith Academy is a new Technology Academy which is due to start admissions in 2011. It is being funded with extensive support from the Worshipful Company of Mercers and the Information Technologists Company. The Marketors have been asked to help to develop the school's branding and an opportunity now exists for someone to help create the Corporate Identity Guidelines.
This will include all aspects of branding, logo, look and feel, uniform and badging, motto, signage as well as stationery, website and other marketing and communications deliverables.
This is a truly unique and outstanding opportunity to be involved at the earliest stages of a project which will literally grow to build a lasting legacy for the local community and for London.

Praxis
Praxis is an established charity in the East End of London providing social, medical, housing and care services for displaced and newly arrived people, who may fall outside the scope of traditional, organised, government-based services. They are now planning the development of their organisation to the next level and they need support in a number of key areas.
Praxis has developed a new concept in language training and now needs to take this idea to the next level. We have a need for a development partner and some thoughts on the kinds of organisations that would be suitable, but we need to consider how to attract and engage interest in our idea. Some ongoing input to this process would be helpful. Support is needed for
a half day brain-storming workshop and discussion.
The Praxis website has been upgraded and developed and is now much improved. However we have one individual capable of updating and reviewing content and his time and capability are limited. We would benefit greatly from
a website specialist’s input for maybe an hour or so per week to ensure that we are making the most of the information that we present and that the features and functionality of the website are appropriate. This could be
provided and communicated remotely with no requirement to travel.

Inspire - GETTING AHEAD
This is a programme of employability skills based conferences for young people in East London boroughs secondary schools. Group Advisors – and volunteers, with experience of successs/employment/business, work with small groups of young people through several workshops across the day.
Full pre-briefing, documentation and on site support are all available.
What’s covered in the conferences?
Schools pick from a menu of workshops so each conference is slightly different. Broadly speaking, the conferences aim to cover two general areas:
- Work skills – can include first impressions, writing a CV, completing an application form, interview technique, how to behave in the workplace, what will be expected of you, etc.
- Life skills – working with people, listening and communicating, problem solving, following and interpreting instructions, etc.
Students also get to know their Group Advisor and find out more about the Advisor’s chosen career and the path they took to get it.
Notes:
- The Advertising workshops aim to teach the children about slogans and logos, and start them thinking about different forms of advertising. We provide PowerPoint presentations for volunteers to use in the classroom, run through the session with volunteers before the activity, and go along on the day to support the volunteer.
- Dragons' Den is a classroom version of the BBC TV show. Volunteers will watch children's presentations and judge as potential investors.
The summer term events have now finished. Please check here later for information on autumn (2010) and spring (2011) workshops.

Situated off Fleet Street in the narrow streets surrounding St. Bride’s Church, with which the Marketors are associated, the St. Bride Institute was established in 1891 to meet the educational, cultural and social needs of a community working within the burgeoning print industry of the Victorian era.
The St. Bride Foundation brings together exhibition spaces, a theatre, educational centre and what is undoubtedly one of the most significant collections of typography and historical printed reference in the world. We also provide a first rate facility for conference and events with reduced rates for community organisations.
Support is required to develop a marketing plan to help promote the foundation’s activities, increase usage of the facilities and services, and generate income.
