News from Worshipful Company of Marketors

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh KG, KT, our first Honorary Freeman, will present the Worshipful Company of Marketors with its Royal Charter on 19 October 2010 at Guildhall.

New grants of Royal Charter by the Privy Council are reserved for bodies which have a solid record of achievement and are financially sound so this truly great event really marks the Marketors ‘coming of age’ as a livery company.

There will be a ceremony of traditional City pageantry, during which the Royal Charter will be presented. The Master will commit the Company to upholding the Charter in perpetuity and declare our allegiance to Her Majesty the Queen and her successors forever.

This will then be followed by the Bowden Dinner in commemoration of our Founder Master in the atmospheric and historical Guildhall.
