Mercatura Adiuvat Omnes... Marketing Benefits Everyone
Worshipful Company of Marketors
FELLOWSHIP

This committee meets quarterly at the Guildhall to discuss the current status of Fellowship activities and to pre-plan forthcoming events and projects. This year the primary objectives are as follows:
  • To engage with all Company Members with particular reference to the Freeman who have been admitted during the last three years.
A primary objective this year is to continue to support our new Members and there will be various internal communications which will provide helpful information and give new members the opportunity of liaising with senior Company members.
  • To refresh the Benefits and Privileges program to provide value added services to all members. This project will require market research and other activities to launch a range of benefits which are specifically required and expected by Company Members. A survey will be released to all members seeking their requirements and comments
  • To assist with the Fellowship activities at the Great Events. This includes offering hospitality to newly admitted Freemen and other guests. The committee also promote new ideas to enhance the recognition of new members and guests at these functions. The Chief Usher, Rebecca Hill, coordinates the new Freemen before and after their Admittance Ceremonies.
  • We will continue to monitor the attendance statistics at all Great Events and at all social events. This helps us to identify the activities which gain most support and interest from the membership.

Welcoming New Members

As we have all experienced when joining any new body of people, being new and not immediately knowing or remembering names or faces can be quite daunting particularly at formal events when name badges are not worn. The Fellowship Committee has recognised this particular problem within our own livery company.

To help newer members settle in and enjoy the Fellowship of the Marketors, when we sponsor or second a new member we will make a commitment which says "We will mentor and support the introduction of this person to the WCM for the next 12 months".

The Marketors is one of the finest livery companies for camaraderie and provides a wide range of social events, all of which can help bind this important fellowship activity. The courtesy of introducing members to others they do not yet know will enhance these fine traditions and attributes and ensure that new members are quickly integrated socially within the Company.
